Rethinking media. Rethinking ourselves.
Michael Wesch from Kansas University examines forms vs content, and the possibilities as media evolves into hypermedia. Fascinating and exciting. Technology, I love you.
SA is fast becoming the Big Apple of Africa
About a year or so ago, we converted the entire Zoopy office to Apple Mac machines. iMacs took over from constantly under-performing Windows desktop machines that proudly crashed harddrives with no remorse, and MacBooks replaced slow and incompatible Vista laptops.
We haven’t looked back.
The software is faster, more powerful, better researched and completely stable. Editing videos, [...]
We are (are we) a lost generation in the making?
Brilliant. Smart. Provocative. Encouraging. Life is all about the angle from which you view the world.
ANC online banner campaign
Much has been written about the various South African political parties’ online activity this year, particularly around their approach to social media.
The DA launched their flagship social product Contribute to Change and the ANC created My ANC. Both sites are obviously very much pull destinations.

Do you suffer from blog smog?

Online content theft is just plain nasty. Fight it!
I mean nasty in the eww-Jerry-Springer kinda way. It’s the kind of offense that should force perpetrators to flee town out of sheer embarrassment and an overwhelming fear of finger-pointing. But besides it being the lowest of the low, stealing content that has been copyrighted and claiming it as your own is also wrong, selfish, [...]
I love Google. But I love my privacy more.
How do I love Google? Let me count the ways.
I love that they’ve kept their simple homepage while all around them have transformed into overwhelming portals.
I love their ingenuity. Their ability to solve problems that we didn’t even know we had is unmatched.
I love their search engine with all its patented algorithms, PageRank scoring and [...]
