Lunch and fresh air on the riverside in Kingston upon Thames

A few miles south-west of London is a beautiful, leafy town called Kingston upon Thames. As the name suggests, Kingston is set right along the Thames river, separated from Hampton Court Palace (home to King Henry VIII) by Hampton Court Park.

While exploring Kingston, we stumbled across Canbury Gardens on the way to the riverfront and stopped for a delicious pub lunch at The Boater’s Inn. Add an endless mix of trees, the river just metres away, and loads of ducks and geese, and you have a place that’s hard to beat for pure relaxation and natural beauty.
